"The Medical Aspects of Nuclear Radiation" is a Civil Defense Film. It explains effects of radiation upon the human body, internal and external radiation hazards, and the relative gravity of the hazards of nuclear radiation, blast and heat.
The short film contains animation of the human body as a factory, showing a cartoon of workers in different body departments and also to illustrate the manner in which radioactive particles penetrate all manner of objects.
The Documentary is a step back in time to tell how people were instructed to conduct themselves in the event of a nuclear attack, and how to use a geiger counter for determining radiation levels.
"The Medical Aspects of Nuclear Radiation" was originally commissioned in 1950 by The Armed Forces Special Weapons Project.
